We LoVe This Kid!
3 years old is all about Goofy!!

THE PARTY

It's so Hard to Believe that 3 whole years have gone by since our Little Man was brought into this World! WoW! 3! It's so weird to hear ourselves say it ~ gives me butterflies, mostly because I know he's not a Baby anymore! He's more Independent than ever before! Definitely Has likes and dislikes ~ His very own interests ~ AND, he Really has some interests now :o) H Man is Really into knowing Facts about Space, Planets, Stars, where they are & how they are made... and MOST importantly ~ ROCKETS!!! Gotta have a way to get there (right?) and why Not SUPER FAST! :o)

Knowing we had a Little Astronaut on our Hands we said "Why not do a Space Themed Birthday Party this Year!?!" And What a Great Idea that Was!!!! Since H Man Really Knew what a Birthday Party is this year, We wanted to do something extra special and memorable. We had such a Great time with this Theme:o)

This is what We put together:

We went for a Rocket Invitation Post Card ( pictured above, Made by Daddy~ Isn't Cool!!) and We addressed each Invite to 'Space Explorer So and So', inviting them to Join H Man on his 'Top Secret Birthday Mission!'

For the Party we put up Black Plastic to Darken the Windows, and Block a Whole Door Way . Then we took Yellow Stars ( different sizes) that we had cut out of Yellow Card stock and stuck them all over the Black plastic and some on the Ceiling as well. A few Days before hand we had cut out and painted a Moon, and the Planet Saturn with the Ring. We did this out of Card Board, so We Hung those from the Ceiling with fishing line to give them a floating look.

Next We set up the Main Party Out Side. We set up an EZ Up and Covered One Whole Side with Black Plastic which we also stuck painted planets and yellow stars on it for a Back Drop. We put the Birthday Food Table inside and then I decorated the table with each space themed place setting, A Space Shuttle Cup for each child ( to go home with), and some confetti etc. We hung streamers from the EZ Up to give it extra pizazz.

Next We set up a Tent and blew up a Queen Sized Air Mattress to be placed inside ~ Our Rendition of a kids Tent Jumper. We filled the Tent with Balloons so the kids could run and jump and have a great time.

One of my favorite parts was the Picture Back Drop/ Game deal we made out of a refrigerator box from Daddy's work! We Cut out a toddler sized Rocket cut a circle in it for the Window/ Peek Hole, painted it all up, covered Half a refrigerator box we Cut in half with black plastic and stuck stars on that and a planet too ~ VIOLA! Instant Game/ Peek Drop for pictures :o)

For Games we Kept it simple, We just played a Moon rock Hunt game ( much like an Easter Egg Hunt) where we took Foil, placed a treat inside and balled it up into a 'rock'. Then we placed them around the yard in Very noticeable places and had the kids go on a 'Moon Rock Hunt'.

We also would love to give a BIG thanks to Uncle W, He put together Spaced themed music for the party and had it playing in the back ground, It set the Mood!

And Last But Not Least.... Daddy and I made a Rocket Cake!!! It was such a Blast to make :o)
